One of the newest additions to the National Geographic fleet, the Orion is a fully stabilized, ice-class vessel, designed to navigate not only polar ice but also small harbors in the South Pacific Islands. It is equipped for 102 guests in 53 spacious cabins which feature ocean views, climate controls, internet access, flat-screen TVs and private bathroom facilities.
The National Geographic Orion boasts a state-of-the-art lecture theater where a range of experts will deliver fascinating presentations, as well as a spacious sun deck, outdoor cafe and fitness room. Embark on a range of exciting daily excursions on their zodiacs and kayaks, or take advantage of the diving and snorkeling opportunities, then relax with onboard comforts which include a wellness spa, sauna and hot tub. The Orion’s “open bridge” policy allows guests to meet the captain and officers at the helm, while a full-time doctor, videographer, undersea specialist and National Geographic photographer are among their 75-member dedicated crew.
