Formerly known as the Sea Adventurer, the Ocean Adventurer relaunched in June 2017 following a multi-million-dollar renovation. This award-winning, ice-strengthened ship was originally built in Yugoslavia in 1976 and has earned a reputation as a passenger favorite.
The new and improved ship features a fresh and contemporary look, as well as six new twin cabins and three new suites. Updated bathrooms have been installed in existing cabins (together with new soft furnishings) while the lounge, bar and dining room have all been remodeled. The fuel efficiency and carbon footprint of the vessel have also been reduced, with technical enhancements that include two new Rolls Royce engines.
The Ocean Adventurer boasts a Polar Library with an extensive collection of related books, an exercise room and a multi-purpose presentation lounge, as well as ship-to-shore satellite communications for wireless internet access. Zodiac cruising, hiking and snowshoeing are included on expeditions while kayaking is available at an additional charge.
